I am currently giving this idea some thought. My brother is a mechanic. Thinks it could be done so does his brother in law. But they have never done it before. Obviously the electrics side will be a nightmare but we will get an autospark to wire it. But has anyone tried this or have any thoughts on it? Looking at getting a…

Looking at getting a damaged donor vehicle to work from.

depends what year van you're fitting it to , and if you can get the ECU , loom , keys , immobiliser etc . If it's pre '02 , 'd sooner fit a 2.8 i.d.T.d ,and remove the immobiler on the injector pump . much simpler on the wiring front , and a lovely , simple , torquey engine .
