My mums A4 softtop roof got stuck in the open position last night and we cannot get it to close. The widows go down as if it's prepare to close but then it just stops. I have checked the fuses but it's fine.

Any ideas or any Audi specialists that would be good? If it rains were screwed!

There's a T-bar tool in the fuse box on the driver's side of the dashboard. You can use that to manually lock the roof shut at the header rail above the windscreen, and in the cubby hole between the rear seats (to get the rear deck thing locked down).

That might be all it needs, it might have jammed due to something and then stayed jammed. Manually winding it with the special tool could get it over the sticking point.

The motor may be weak due to the battery (so run the engine while putting the roof up/down) or it could be that the hydraulic fluid is going bad (turns to jelly when old, but is easily replaced), or it could be that the pump is low on haudraulic fluid. There are Audi-specific forums with more detail...
