I'm just going to come out and say it; since a child, I've had a fascination with paleontology, but I was never quite sure of how to pursue it as a career, especially here in Ireland where it seems such an underdeveloped profession. Do any of you have any idea where/how to begin? Any advice would be extremely helpful.

Always kind of presumed people picked up a BSc or BA in archaeology or geology or biology or something and ended up doing a Masters after that...

I could be wrong, but I think Plaeontology might be a module on some of the Geology degree courses. The one in Trinity has it according to google. I presume you'd do a geology degree and then specialise in palaeo in your post grad. You could probably also do a zoology degree and do the same thing I'd imagine since you'd most likely need a bit of geology and zoology.

I did my degree in Biology and there was a paleontology module in the first year.
