    Hi All,

I'm a 30 year old woman who recently met a 23 year old lad and hit it off straight away.
He is an amazing guy. He's funny, intelligent, kind and simply wonderful.

We get along really well and have the exact same sense of humour. We like all the same books and films and see things the same way.

We haven't even kissed yet although it's defo on the cards. I only found out the other day that he's 23. I thought he was at least 28 based on his looks and maturity.

I'm worried now that being with him would be pointless. I know it'd be fun and sexy and we'd have a good time but I fear that I'll get hurt. He's so young and has so much life experience ahead of him and I worry that he still needs to sow his wild oats so to speak!

So, the question is, do I enter into this knowing that it'll probably just be a fling and try hard not to take it seriosuly or should I just stay away and just be friends as it's safer/more sensible?!

Ahh...I just wish he was a tad older...even 25 wouldn't be so bad but 23 is very young!!

    Thanks all:)

I have 3 sisters and the one born next to me(I'm the youngest at 21. She's 13 years older than me) is with a 23/24 y.o man and they get along great! They live together and he gets on great with her kids. Not to mention the fact my own bf is 8 years and 8 months older than I am so I see no reason why his age should be a factor. If you feel a spark with this person, I say give it a shot! You might end up surprising yourself with good things can be. Hope I helped :)

What is he was 20? Now you don't feel so unsure about 23.
For the short term there is are no issues, you get along you have fun,
to progress this into a relationship you will have to deal with banter from friends
people usually expect the man to be older with age gaps, so expect to hear cougar, oh how funny, people never get bored of that.

Don't be sensisble! if its going to stop you from enjoying this, I would rather be 30 and enjoy a fun relationship than cut my self off and then go on to have a short to medium term relationship (ha)with someone my own age that is less fun.

Similar age gap in my relationship but I'm 20 and want a home to share with the person I love and we've both just graduated last year so in that sense we're at the same stage in life now but that could change like any relationship (ie wanting the same thing)
    you two want fun
when it comes to being serious the stages of life thing does make things hard work

Just date him it sounds like it will be a blast dont sacrifice something good over what others may think you're both adults its not like he's 17 and you're 40

People who are 23-33 can be quite similar within that bracket of being adults still enjoying their youth wanting to have a good time :)
