    Quite simply, which tubs?

Looking to use them ONLY for road racing.. like any tyre, looking for something grippy, good in wet, would sacrifice weight for puncture resistance.. be nice if they didnt break the bank...

rode schwalbe ultremos last year, great tyre on corners etc...

    any ideas much appreciated...

    thanks

I am in the same boat as you and I am going for Veloflex Carbon. There is also the choice of Vittoria Corsa Evo CX, FMB Competition CX and Dugast Strada. Unfortunately they all break the bank and there are many more tubs out there, but these seem to be on a higher level and they get all the praise.

Veloflex Carbons are waaaay better than Vittoria, great grip in the dry & wet, smooth as butter. I use the clincher version as well, the Corsa 22, best clincher out there IMO.

FMB and Dugast are amazing but a lot more bucks and are more inconsistent than the Veloflexes quality wise, great though if you can afford them.

Bike Palast are usually pretty good on the Veloflex.

    Nice pair of Gatorskins

    *backs away slowly*

Save your money and buy more cross tubs Sean. FWIW my money would be with the FMB's, excellent quality, Francois will add in extra protection to the carcass if you ask him. Never regretted buying mine.
