I don't know about that particular model, but I know a lot of people have and use the Springer and find it good.

Again I don't have that particular one but my one goes straight out and has a 90 degree bend with the spring hanging off it, it doesn't have that extra turn upwards. I find it great and cycle all 6 dogs

That package from Country hounds is excellent value, but thats for bikejoring, where the dog runs in front of the bike, pulling, so it is different to the springer style that the OP put up, which has the dog running next to the bike.

Personally, I'd rather do the bikejoring, but thats just personal preference.:)

Oh sorry OP, thought it was the same thing.

I have the trixie-deluxe of amazon. I use it my husky he loves it. I have started bringing our second dog, a staffie-lab x rescue we got before Christmas and she is starting to enjoy it. They just pull you along so not much cycling really. Its great fun and they can run along on the kerb if your on the road.
Just be very careful as when other dogs come out of a house barking etc and your dogs stops or backs back the bar can swing back and gets caught in the wheel. I have had a few close ones with that.
Get a good harness from Country hounds so you dont choke your dog too.

Yeah! I trained them to the bike separately and have 3 hooked directly to the bike and the each have a hard-of-hearing buddy joined harness to harness . I have 2 older dogs who have gone quite deaf and a dog born deaf so when I call instructions they take their ques from the hearing dogs, particularly when we turn left as the dogs are hooked on that side

is there not issues if free roaming dogs decide to potter over to play with your own. I'd love to bring my two out with the bike but I imagine all kinds of trouble if my two got distracted. every time I think about it the image ends up with me on the ground and dogs tangled up under my bike.

Same here. Mine are far too excitable. the SLIGHTEST distraction and you're back to square one. they still try to catch leaves at 20 months old so I probably will do very short sessions to start with and see how that goes.

I strengthened their 'leave it ' commands and taught them left and right but to be honest they kind of get into a working mode and just settle down and travel. It might be that I've been lucky but it works for me.

The "leave it" command becomes important. I have my fellow nearly trained to only stop when I want and not when he does (at 1st he was lifting his leg every few meters which got really frustrating). The biggest issue i have a the moment is un-socialised dogs coming out to attack mine and this has happened on a number of occasions especially when your out in the country. On one occasion i had to beat away two boxers and a Doberman off my husky with the owner watching and doing nothing. My husky was fine but extremely nervous on the bike for a while. Quiet scary event and the owner got an ear full of f***s etc from me.
Im now running two dogs and she is just following his lead so is good that way. Excellent way to exercise two high energy dogs
