I taught there was a 11pm curfew or something on flights in and out of LHR?

I was on flight radar24 last night and seen ELAL ELY030 B767 land in LHR at roughly 2.30am or there abouts even though its not on the scheduled arrivals?

    cheers

From memory their late night flights are limited by a sound-level-per-annum style tally, they can take a medium amount of quieter jets or a small amount of louder jets.

I assume landing flights is quieter than take-off so arrivals may be allowed after departures have been stopped?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quota_count_system looks accurate enough, suggests that most craft are rated lower on landing but not all. The 737 Classic looks like an anomoly there.

There you have it.....it was a diversion (maybe medical or tech) No airport would not allow a jetban to stop a medical/emergency diversion arrive in.

No idea if doing so is a required action, I assumed that if they were in direct contact with ATC that would be sufficient.
