    Hi all

There probably is a thread somewhere here (i searched, but didn't find- but if i've missed it, apologies in advance) about puppy training already and if so, perhaps someone could direct me to it.

Myself and my wife will very soon be proud owners of two new puppies. We want to make sure the pups grow into well socialised, happy dogs and know that training at the start is the key. It's years since either of us owned a dog, so if anyone has any information on puppy training and possible trainers in the Dublin 6/6W area, that would be great.

Really excited about this. And a little nervous!

You should try Positive Dog Training in Sandyford. Haven't used them for their training classes but have used the grooming and socialisation and found them fab.

I don't know if you have your puppies already picked out but please do not get two litter mates. Def think 2 pups together is great for company (some people say to get them at different times to help with training) but litter mates living together can cause issues. Don't have the exact links to hand but if you google it some info should come up

I know you said somewhere in Dublin 6 or that for classes but we got another puppy yesterday (an adorable 9/10 week old rottiex from EGAR) and we are bringing her over to the Puppy Socialisation Class in Positive Dog Training on Saturday they are based in Sandyford and the place is fantastic - my other dogs have been over to the Day Care and can't wait to bring the puppy so she can mill around with other puppies and hopefully learn some manners as well :D...I know it might be a bit of a hike for you but the luas stop at the end of the road and it would be so worth it the place is fantastic and the girls are so patient - I love my dogs but not sure I could cope with lots of dogs
