Where did you seen of it being re opened ?

we applied before the closing date last year, but are considering doing some work on a block of land my daughter recently inherited

BEST go to your local AES Office and they give a list of the recommended suppliers, we done some fencing and a handling unit from Stanley Engineering

I applied for the grant got my reps adviser to draw up a plan and apply for the grant 3months later a KNOB from the department came out and told me what i could and couldnt do.,when i sat down and put a pen to paper i realised i could build my own handling unit to suit me to my spec for less and wouldnt have the hassle from the pen pushers in the department.,

Id be interested in getting the handling equipment more so than the fencing.... cant seem to come across a list of approved suppliers anywhere... do Suppliers have to be approved even.

It would be interesting to compare prices before you go to the bother of applying for the grant..

Try Cormac in Tuam... fairly sure he is approved and then.. try someone local.....

I got my approval today and it is a LONG time since I applied... I am just doing fencing and am sorry I applied

i applied in the first trench...heard nothing for months...said feck it and fenced 2 fields which needed done asap (the application was for more than that), means i lost my application but sure couldn't be waiting for another few months for them to DECIDE:eek:, with ewes breaking out all the time..the whole thing was pathetic if you ask me..plus then you have to wait to be inspected and get paid:mad:....fecking hell wouldn't like to wait for that if it took them more that 6-7 month to look for more info!!
i suppose it would suit if you are not in a rush...
have to say i am delighted i've done my own thing after all (probably the fencing wouldn't be up yet!!)...but everybody is different

You need to get adviser / consultant to complete application form for you - so they should have a copy of it. The 1st tranche was a disaster as it was long and drawn out before people got approved, but im sure DAFM have streamlined the process somewhat since. If you need the fencing/handling unit immediately then forget about applying for grant. If you can wait a few months then its money for jam. There is a list of approved agents that supply mobile handling equipement - ur adviser / consultant will be able to furnish you with this - or you can download it - link below

good to see the scheme open again,

O'Donovan, Cormac and Stanley are all approved there are a good few more as well

if fencing all stakes and wire must be certified and strainers have a tag

    Hi..

Does anyone know if this grant is still available?

    Thanks

Yes still available, I applied in August waiting on confirmation. The last batch closing date was August 31st believe the next one is November 30th. Read in the Journal yesterday it is seriously unsubscribed which is a pity...

Don't have it yet, have ordered a Sheepeze. Can't wait to get it, have one I put together 10 years ago myself which has done a super job but has had its day...
