World Open next five years in China

    The World Open will be held on the Chinese island of Hainan for the next five years it was confirmed today.
    It will change it's format back to the normal ranking event schedule of best of nines and not fives as it was when it was first held in Scotland Oct '10.
    The event will take place 27th feb - 4th Mar and will have a £400,000 prize fund with £75,000 to the winner.
    The usual top 16 qualify automatically with a further 16 qualifiers joined by 8 wild cards.

    Next on the list is the prestigious Masters which begins this Sunday from its new home in Alexandra Palace.
