Looking for a new laptop under the €500 mark, will mainly be used for downloading movies and general internet browsing. Can't find many with a high resolution for the price I'm looking for, will the Res on the below be sufficient?

    Any ideas/thoughts appreciated!

Good things come to those who wait. ;)

You said you can't find one with a high enough resolution, so what do you mean will the below be sufficient? Sufficient for what?

1366x768 (720p) is standard resolution for a 15'' laptop. You you aren't used to higher resolutions on a laptop that size then it will be enough for you.

Everything else about the laptop is fine, and you'd probably have to go over 500 euro to get a resolution of higher than 1366x768.

Ok so I just bought the laptop above, this is probably a stupid question but what should I do first, I guess I need to download anti-virus software etc?

Is there any way I can get my itunes music from my old laptop (which I don't have any more) to my new one, using my account details?

Any other useful info appreciated I am a bit clueless with tech stuff

First thing I'd do, is uninstall all the useless programs that probably came with the laptop.

Download this https://www.soluto.com/. Once you install it and restart your computer, it'll give you a breakdown of what programs are running as you boot up the laptop and how much time they are costing you, and it'll give you the option to disable/delay the non-essential ones.

After I got it I went from a 5 minute boot time to 2mins 30secs. You can then uninstall them if you think you won't ever use them. Just go to control panel, programs, uninstall.

As for an anti-virus, get the free version of AVG http://free.avg.com/ie-en/homepage. Don't let anyone tell you you need to spend 50+ euro on an anti virus. Just stay away from dodgy websites and you'll be grand.

And then for everything else you might need to get there's this website http://ninite.com/. Just pick what programs you want then click get installer and it'll do the rest.

As for itunes, I'm not sure I don't use it but if you bought all the songs, once you re-install itunes you should have the option to download them again.
