    Right, i have a friend of mine who has upc in his house, thats fine, it works great but in his sheomra out the back garden there is little or no signal, is there any way he can boost the wifi?

    You can buy universal repeaters that essentially 'boost' the signal, you can plug them in by the back of the house and you should have good signal in the back. We have one that works quite well, just with a small drop in speed. Just make sure your one is compatible with the original type of Wi-Fi signal: 802.11a/b/g etc.

    Alternatively you could buy a small access point and make a wired connection from that to the UPC-supplied router. There are some models that can be configured as either a repeater or access point.
