I have a high resolution monitor that displays 2560x1440 resolution, does anyone know if it's possible for a HDMI output to display at this resolution? There is a HDMI input on the monitor and a dual input DVI port also but only HDMI output on the laptop.

A 1.4 version HDMI Cable will anyway. It'll support 2000p ish, 3D and some other extra colour features. They're not hard got, they've been out for a few years.

The 1.3 version supports high resolutions aswell but their is a point where it'll revert back to 1080p. If you have a 1.3 try it and see, if you don't then buy a 1.4.

    1.4
    • Supports 3D Content, Supports Audio Return Channel, Supports True HD Dolby 7.1 and DTS-HD Master Audio
    • Supports 4K2K, 2160p, 1440p, 1080p, 720p and 480p Resolutions
