    With Sportingbet.

Talk of his demise has been touted before. If he shows any sort of form in the next couple of tournaments he will probably be evens or odds on again.

    Anyone tempted?

Lewis is a superior player now. Sadly for Taylor age is getting in the way.

You could be right you know, if he does continue to struggle(relative to what he used to do) then there is every chance he will walk away, he doesnt seem to me to be the type of lad who would be happy just been competitive, he's a winner and may not take kindly to been beaten often.

i think taylor is finished players dont just up there to lose to him anymore most of time they use to go up to oche thinking they had already lost... his bullying antics dont work anymore

Nonsense. He's not a bully...he's just more experienced and more professional than most. He's arrogant but he has every right to be. I've heard this "taylor's finished" crap before and people always end up eating their words.

So even though he has stated himself that he thinks he is on the way down, you think its all bull

And Taylor while yes the greatest Dart player of all time was absolutely a bully and a very unsporting characther aswell, I agree with you that he had every right to be arrogant and it was one of the reasons he was so good, but to say he wasnt a bully is well wide of the mark, there are countless examples of hes unsporting conduct and bullying on stage.

I didn't say it was bull, I said it was nonsense. And I was replying to someone saying he was finished not "on the way down".

Give me some of these examples of him being a bully...

I know what you were replying to, and tbh Im not sure in this context what the difference is between ''bull'', ''nonesense'' or to use another word you used ''crap''

The most obvious example is the quarter final last year in the worlds against Webster as they went on an interval break, im in work and cant link hte utube link but he actually physically intimidated, or attempted to , Webster as they left the stage.

There are countless claims and reports from a huge number of leading players outlining the tactics Taylor implied down through the years, from he questionable flatuence, to deliberately making noise behind players as they were throwing, there have been too many players claiming this for there mot be something to it, off course SkySports and in particular Sid Waddell have always brushed this under the carpet, becasue of course Taylor was their most marketable product and quite frankly Waddell's obsession is bordering on creepy!

about as creepy as your obsession with him is tbh.

He's given as much as he's got. And there are a lot of bitter players out there.

3 posts on him in a thread titled Phil Taylor, yeah im obsessed

If you refuse to engage in an adult coversation on the matter then I dont see the point, but on the off chance you will -

    1) Did you check the video I was talking about Webster, or do you remember the incident at all, where he tried to barge him off the stage?

    2) You say he only gave as good as he got, examples of this please, I have never heard of any such instances?

Off course there are alot of bitter players out there, until very recently Darts was a very poor sport in comparison to others and it was a cut throat business, but some of the most respected people in darts, players, referees, agents etc. have all made these accusations against Tyalor and it goes back 20 years, no smoke without fire If you ask me, Barney is the second most successfull dart player of all time and I have never ever heard anyone associated with the game have a bad word to say about him.

Listen, you're the one who misquoted me straight away. I was replying to a poster who said that he was "finished" not "on the way down".

But look, if you want to do this, you tube is full of disputes between taylor and other players, each one as guilty as each other...Mason, Manley, Lewis, King, Anderson etc...

He's probably secretly hated by most of them, but I'm not one of these people who say that he signs boards and gives it to fans just to patronise and wind up other players.

The man is the greatest the sport has ever seen and you'll always get muppets like nicholson who will try to have a pop at him. He has the arrogance of a player that is superior to his peers. And now Lewis has that same arrogance.

Fair enough mate, we'll agree to disagree on it, I have just always found him to be extremely condesending, agree Lewis is a cocky so and so but I think you can do that without patronising other players which i think Taylor does at times, perhaps its not intentional, who knows.

Interesting that you mention Nicholson actually I was talking recently to one of the well known pros on teh circuit and he was telling me that Noicholson is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and a pure gent off stage and that it is all an act, despite the recent increase in prize money in the sport, sponsorship and exhibitions are still the bread and butter and Nicholson spoted a niche in the market as a bad boy, and tbf he feckin pulls it off cos Id love to smack him one anytime I see him coming on stage.

In the timeframe any profitable punter should be able to get a higher return on their stake than 11/4 at a fraction of the risk so that alone makes it a bad bet.

I met him down in Killarney and was sitting next to him as he prepared for his semi and eventual final lose. The guy is sound, no airs or graces about him at all. There are a few pr!cks though, Baxter wouldnt give you the time of day, neither would Van Gerwin, Anderson is a bit of a tool aswell.
Peter Manly who I thought was a pr!ck seems to be a pretty sound guy, so stage persona's are nothing to go by.
Lewis is probably the soundest of the lot, though he might have been stoned when I met him :)
