Just a quick question , is it acceptable to point a new poster in the correct direction (ads in ads , list FPS) or just hit report ?
I know that is what the report button is for but it is extra work for Mod's when a simple nudge might do the job , down side is everyone becomes a Mod.
This question is directed ONLY to Mod's and the reason it is not asked in PM's is so that everyone can see the answer.

As an ex-mod, I'd argue for just reporting whatever it is. That way the mods can either move, lock, or delete the post or thread in question with no fuss.

I would also add that some people can get a bit precious about being "told what to do" and unless you have the mod power to back it up could just start a flame war which is even more work to sort out.

we (the mods) generally find it easier to deal with reports then deal with the original problem aswell as the backseat mod. the problem with saying fire ahead and nudge people, is like opening the floodgates and declaring open season (at least it seems that way with some posters).

I think it was you but I remember one lad telling a mod to f*ck off and mind his own business because he was getting given out to for having an over-powered rifle. Lol what a twat.
