Ignoring the blocked drain. How bad will it get?

So, besides undermining the foundations of the house, would ignoring the drain for another few weeks cause probs for the plumbing system/ washing m/c?

(I noticed the washing m/c empties into the same drain, and when its on, wow, does the garden get wet.)
