Can anyone please explain why certain programmes I record weekly, do not complete the full prog? The recording cuts off at the last few mins everytime! It is especially annoying cos one of my programmes has the best bit at the end and it always misses it. I am pressing the button that says "every episode" and thought it should be fool proof. Thanks.

Also, some forward planning here - I will be moving house in a few months and wondered what do I do with the old UPC box? I will be cancelling my account, thanks.

I believe if you go into Settings it offers you the choice of extending the recording time by say five or ten minutes on all your recordings

    Return it to UPC.

The only downside of this is recordings can clash!.
For example your likely to forget about the 5 min extra so if your recording a programme at 22:30 to 23:30 and on another channel something starting 23:30 then the times overlap because of the 5minute schedule and it will fail. This would be ok with Sky because you can record 2 programmes simultaneously but UPC can only record one.

UPC will record 2 programmes at once as long as the box is in standby.

Where is the settings for the recordings? I can't find it.

    Puts on tinfoil hat/

I think stations have figured out that people are using DVRs more so they are messing with their schedules so shows start and end before or after they are supposed to, so that you have to watch it live and see the ads.

BBC and the C4 channels are terrible for this, I don't think I've managed to record a full beeb show in ages and they don't even have ads!

    Takes off tinfoil hat.:D

I wouldn't really agree with that, i think BBC are quite punctual. Maybe for days that there is live sport on and it over runs then maybe the immediate show or two afterwards could get delayed but i cant remember the last time i recorded something on BBC that i missed the end of. The most recent being Sherlock.

Topgear always misses the start or end.

But the 4's are worst. I never saw the end of any Beaver falls and have loads of others shows start late
