Problems with “8” Android 2.2 Tablet

Hi was wondering if anyone can help me. Recently bought “8” Android 2.2 Tablet from the internet. Think it came from China. It was a Christmas present for my dad. Battery is not holding the charge:(, we,re barely getting half hour out of it and if we fully charge it the red light does not go green to say is charged. Also if we have it off and charge it fully and then go to use it later its dead again.
Also it wont let me connect to Skype or facebook. I can connect to it on my netbook no problem. Is there certain settings i need to put in for them to work on the tablet. Its connect to the Eircom Broadband in the house.

Ive just contacted the website i got it from so waiting to here about the battery as it sounds like its faulty but if anyone can help me on the Skype and facebook problem it would be appreciated.

I probably need a new battery if its not holding its charge as downloading an app prob wouldnt help it.

sorry to tell you . my daughter got one against my advice .. now dead as as a ,do. do. it was not great to start with very poor screen ..there were lots blogs on google to stay clear. like other poster there is no free dinner you get what you pay for . how ever my advice to you for what it is worth . try and get your money back put it towards a good pad there are some cheaper than apple which are quite good. and there will be sales for the new year, with the better known makes you will have some come back

Thanks Noel. Ive contacted the supplier asking for just that so i,ll wait and see what they say. Thanks for your help. Def learnt my lesson
