    Hey Guys,

I'm looking to upgrade my car to something with a bit more engine power. I just sold my 00 Yaris (which I LOVED, it was so reliable, I only had to service it and get the emissions checked in the 2 years I had it). I want something just as reliable (I had a Corsa which kept breaking down), but with a bit more power as I drive from Dublin to Limerick twice a month and the revs get pretty high keeping to the speed limits :)

I have been looking at the following: Corolla Hatch, Almera Hatch, 323F Coupe, and Golf. I was hoping someone would be able to give me advice on the above cars, or another car which I may not have thought about! I want something around the 1.2-1.5l mark (not too high on insurance), and something economical on petrol. I wouldn't go diesel as I do mostly city driving, except for the twice monthly drives to Limerick. My price limit would be MAX 2k, but I'd like to stay below 1,500.

Any recommendations? Thanks in advance :)

If your looking at the 1.4 Golf look elsewhere, I'd go as far as to say the Yaris is faster. If it was me for twice a month I'd just keep the Yaris.

    Agreed.

For that budget, I would be looking for a Corolla or Civic tbh

Thanks for your replies. I have already sold my Yaris, and I'd like to get a different car this time around, I had my Yaris for over 2 years (great car, served me well, but I don't want to buy the same one again!). I am leaning towards a Corolla, do you think this would be the best option?
