i having a bit of trouble with the inlaws dishwasher, led light number 6 is flashing with is [delicate 50o]

iv done a bit of research on google and it seems to be something to do with the heating circuit,

so today iv taken the dishwasher apart and had it up on a bench examing it on its back,

iv tested the heating element and its not broken circuit,

next im moving on to check the thermostat but i cant seem to locate it and i dont know what it looks like for the hotpoint dishwasher,

if it wasnt them 2 i was going to check the pcb board for any obvious signs of damage

can anyone with more info tell me where the stat should be located and even provide a link to a spare or and image of what it looks like,

    kind regards

    stephen

I had s similar problem but with a different make of d/w, turns out the flashing light was telling me there was a build-up of water somewhere.

I fixed the problem by lying the machine on its side for a few minutes and the water came out. Sorted.

Have you googled for a service manual, that flashing LED is probably a fault code.

    PROBLEM FIXED

right iv figured out the problem,

took apart the front of the dishwasher and located the PCB

disconnected all the leads and took it off its plastic backing

noticed a small burn mark on the backing,

on further inspection i noticed that a solder on the relay was burnt out

    (marked in red circle)

    was no continuity

i looked up for a replacement board but they are going for around €120
no way was i spending that on a single part for a machine

got out the soldering iron and put a small solder on it

seems to have fixed the problem as its just gone through its first wash no bothers,

    no error codes

    happy days

hope this is of some use to others

Well done Stephen. I have heard of those boards giving problems before. TBH I wouldn't have huge confidence in the D/W after that - don't leave it on at night! Maybe check it again in a month or two.

    Dean.
