    Hi guys,

Just wondering would anybody be able to help me out with this issue?

Jdownloader won't load up for me at all.

I think it could be something got to do with Java as I've read that a few people seemed to have the same problem.

    Thanks in advance!

Happened to me a few times before. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling?

Before that though try the following.

Open task manager you might see a lot of javaw.exe processes. Right click and end each of those.

Then try to update using the executable jar file in the program folder. Should be called 'jdupdate'.

Cheers mate...tried that and still no luck.

    Any other ideas?

Use a program like Revo Uninstaller to uninstall/wipe it from your machine and install again. I had the same issue a while ago. Are you running the latest version of java (go to control panel, java settings and check for updates in there).

    http://www.revouninstaller.com/

You can pick up the free version on there.

I know it seems obvious, but did you install Java?

Will Vuze or Internet Download Manager not do the same job?

In conjunction with flashget (firefox) and there's an extension for chrome too you can just highlight a link and add it to jdownloader. It also works with youtube (and other video sites) where you copy the link and it'll automatically add to the download list in JD.

It's quite handy. When it works.

JDownloader is an awfully bloated app but has some great features, easy premium account integration, automatic unraring to name a few. Still I had to give up on it due to the bloat. If you have problems running JD I'd advice using a temporary file cleanup program such as CCleaner. This will remove Java temporary files.
Then go to www.java.com and download the latest version if needed. Then go to JDs website and download the latest version and install it.
If you still have problems go into Control Panel>Java and under advanced enable the console, this should show the error when JD is launching
