my dog is sneezing a bit over the past couple of days. She is otherwise fine and eating, playing and toileting as normal. She is still recovering from a serious illness since just before Christmas and our last vet visit was on 23rd Dec but he was happy wit her so she's not due back. Is sneezing in a dog serious?

He probably just has a cold, keep an eye on his temp and make sure there is plenty of water. If you see a decline in health in the next few days book a vet visit.

Are they any fires being lit near you for the holidays - my guy sneezes outside if we pass a house with the fire lighting or also if somebody is smoking near him.

thanks for replies. No fires, apart from our open fire, or smoking. She has been at it on and off for few days. She had a fit of it as soon as she got out of bed this morning and nothing since!

All four dogs here had a bit of a bug over Christmas which consisted of sneezing and snuffling. A couple of them were pretty off form with it and the other 2 didn't get as bad at all. Lasted about a week with them.

Given that your dog is just over a serious illness just keep an eye on her and if you think she's getting any worse maybe give the vet a call and they'll be able to let you know whether you need to bring her in or not.

hopefully it's just something like that. She was fine all day yesterday and then a few sneezes again this morning. Apart from that she is in great form so I'll just keep an eye on her

just to update this. Brought doggie to vet at the weekend just in case it was something more serious. She is perfectly healthy. He could find nothing wrong with her so reckons these sneezing fits are just something she's trying out! Nothing physically wrong.
