Howdy , I recently decided to go through a lot of old stuff I have and I'm having trouble with an old garmin edge 205. Windows 7 won't recognize it and it seems to be a problem with windows glu.

I also have an old Polar 720 heart monitor watch and polar C100 speed sensor.

I was thinking of getting a new garmin 500 or should I suffer the old stuff ?

can you not even see it as a mounted drive? try ubuntu or some other Linux distro, even as a live cd just, and see if that can access it, to at least see I'd the harming is still alive...

Windows doesn't even blink when I connect it ,I don't want to go to the trouble of messing with ubunutu or anything to be honest. I just about fixed my desktop last week after I tried wubi and it crashed my bootable drive. I had to do a dos bootrepair from windows boot disc.

That's where the live cd comes in. Doesn't interfere with your system.
For Windows 7, make sure you're using the latest drivers from Garmin. 64bit if that's what you're running.

Thanks for the replies ,the problem turned out to be the usb cable I was using. The old garmin won't work on the lighter mini-usb cables ,worked fine with the heavy one.

    Cheers.
