Guys looking to get a web camera.
    The Budget is small E20.
    For a Pc running XP
    Got an old style monitor.
    So no click ons.
Will Be using it strictly for msn.
    Not for online gaming.
My first port of call was argos.
Here is what I have come up with.
    List follow

    Bush VGA Webcam. 924/6047 €14.99
    Logitech C170 Webcam. 938/4552 €14.99
Bush VGA Webcam with Microphone and Zoom.924/6061 E17.49

Other don't seem to have any upscale in picture or appear specifically designed for flat screens.
So Which of the 3 would you buy with my requirements.
Any other suggestion and reasons appreciated.

Make sure you get one with a mic if you don't already have a separate mic. Even if you do it's be more straight forward to have the mic integrated unless you have a reason to have a separate mic.

Something I had considered when i logged onto argos.
But then completly forgot when I started looking at individual cameras.

I thought they all had mics, it's a bit sneaky selling ones without them and not having a warning about it.

I bought the bush vga dc-8115. Absoutely useless picture.
My old labtech camera for 8euro five years ago was better straight out of the box.
This is supposed to have enhanced picture also.

Logitech make some good high end stuff, they're a good brand in my experience.

Pixmania have a sale on at the moment you might find something good on there and they take Irish debit card too.

I'd reccomend Microsoft, had used Logitech in the past but the extra for Microsoft is well worth it, from expierience the lower end Microsoft cams are better than the similarly priced Logitechs. Also watch out for "Software Upscaling" on lower end cams, that means the quality will be very poor usually!
Funnily enough my Logitech never had a Mic, my parents better ones does though the quality is not near as good as my Microsoft VX2000
