Recovery disk, Vaio

    Hey guys,

Does anyone have a Sony Vaio VPCEB1S1E?

If you go to the Vaio website it is not even listed....for some reason. I have been onto support and they will not send out a disk, instead I can pay a ridicules amount of money to have it re-imaged. I rather foolishly never made a recovery disk for it and had to do a full format and reinstall recently. This means I do not have A LOT of the correct drivers. Using something like Driver Genius ends up breaking it, especially with the GPU drivers.

    Anyone!?

Hi, Sony model naming conventions are misterious to me too.
Check what your OS sais about the model number

hit "win key" + "r" type msinfo32 and run.
we are interested in "system model" or similliar tittle
try to download drivers for model number that is displayed there.

You could also let me know what drivers are you looking for and provide us with Device ID of unknown device from device manager. I usually know where to look :)

Was the reinstall from the recovery partition? Were the drivers not installed with it?

Yeah system model is the same as printed on the device itself when I go into system info :(

I have no idea why it does not even recognize it on their website!
Im missing pretty much everything, my function keys don't work, my wired Ethernet won't work etc
I had to totally nuke the HDD to do a reinstall as it was being a beotch!

I will throw up a driver/model list tomorrow...well Sunday as I am off to a stag at the other end of the country in the morning. New years resolution of taking it easy: broken!

    Thanks guys!
