    Whats the easiest way to find out about an old car whether its scrapped/written off or whatever, using the reg..

    Without having to pay on one of those sites

    Paying for it is the only legal way of finding out.

    Put it into cartell free search. If nothing comes up,it's gone.

    I find motorcheck etc do tend to show up basic details for car that are long gone. Motortax.ie might be a bit more accurate in that regard. If it says reg doesnt exist, its more than likely gone.
