    Hi,
Does anyone know of a reasonably priced ski hire shop in Kirchberg, getting quoted a price through our operator of €135 for standard boots+skis.
Also they are looking for €224 for lift pass which is the highest I would have paid in Austria.

    Cheers

As far as I know Kirchberg is included in Skiwelt which covers Westendorf & Kitzbuhel. A 6 day pass for there costs €199 - http://www.skiwelt.at/en/winter/normal-tariff.html

It looks like they are selling you a Kitzbuhel Alps Starcard @ €224 for 6 days - http://www.skiwelt.at/en/winter/the-kitzbuehel-alps-allstarcard.html

Kirchberg is not in Skiwelt, it is linked to Kitzbuehel for the basic ski pass - although as you point out, it offers a more extensive ski pass which includes Skiwelt for a slightly higher price.
If you are a decent skier, take the more expensive option. It will give you access to almost 500km of pistes, rather than just under 200km with the Kirchberg/Kitz card.
There are some great runs on the Westendorf side of Skiwelt, culminating in a lovely long run down to the Ki-West gondola, (basically Kirchberg West) which provides a short bus link into Kirchberg and the two lifts there. Mind you, last time I was in Kirchberg, they were upgrading the Maierl lift from the village, so it was not operating. I believe this is now finished, which will assist access back up to the main Kirchberg/Kitzbuehel ski area.
As well as Westenorf, the parts of Skiwelt on the Brixen/Hopfgarten side are very accessible from Kirchberg. Again, some lovely runs here, eg from the top of the Hohe Salve.
Basic message, if you are good enough to ski the arse off the mountain, get the wider pass - if you are a beginner who will be in classes in Kirchberg, don't bother.

phjm - so what options are available to the OP for cheaper passes which serve Kirchberg ? Is there a card that's not Skiwlet & not Kitzbuhler Alps Starcard that they can buy ?

I've only been based in Westendorf before, so I don't know what 'local' cards are available for that side.

There is a card convering Kirchberg/Kitzbuehel - that is the "standard" or basic card for Kirchberg. It covers the slopes on the far side of Kitzbuehel over to Pass Thun, but none of the runs on the Westendorf side of Kirchberg.
