Scoliosis - New Mattress

Hope it's ok to post this here. Need to get a new mattress for someone with Scoliosis, adult age 49. I am thinking of memory foam as there would be no springs digging into you. Is memory foam a good idea or to be avoided and other suggestions appreciated.
