    Hi All,

Need some advice on oil to gas conversion.

Is it possible to convert any oil heated house to gas? What is the requirement?

How much work is required for conversion and cost involved??

Any reference to company's doing conversion would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance..

Cost me about 2.5k a couple of years ago. Three guys did it in one day. My gas boiler is in a different location than the oil so there was a good bit of plumbing.

I found the big bord gais approved companies close to a grand more expensive than smaller operations. He was still approved so was authorised to switch on the gas without a separate inspection being done.

No work was required on existing plumbing, rads. House built in mid eighties.

loads of factors affect price.bord gais will charge different prices for running gas to meter box depending on few different factors.after that it will depend on length of gas pipe runs, labour involved, pipework alterations etc etc

Just contacted bord Gais and airtricity for quotes! Hoping maybe one of the smaller firms could maybe do it either.

Get a couple of small installers to take a look and quote. they will be cheaper than the other two with the same standard. I cant recommend myself but there a loads out there.
