    Hi

Can anyone give me any details on this athletics club please ? Their website isn't the best and I can't find any info on training times. Also, I'm an adult who isn't an amazing runner, I'm just in it for the enjoyment :0) do they take people like me ??

    Thanks :)

Wow that's great thanks !! I'll be along on Sunday and should be able to make the weekdays next week. Thanks so much :0)

I wouldn't mind popping along either.

    What does the training involve?

Ha wobblemouth - love the name :) I don't know what exactly their training is like but I ran with a club before and they did a variety - long runs, hill runs, sprints etc. hoping that skerries is similar but anything that gets me back running will do for me !! I'm going to start on Sunday am. Hope to see you in the ardgillan carpark :0)

That sounds cool. I hope to be there. With a couple of kids now, finding it hard to find the time to run these days, so maybe this might be the way to go.

The club has a majority of kids up to ages 15 but there is a separate small adult section I am 23 and the next oldest is 41 so we need to get some people in who are from 20 to 60 all are welcome just that they dont really advertise it too well.g.php

I'm 25 Binkalette so I'll bridge the gap a little bit ;) looking forward to getting going again.

I'm 24 and in the Club at the moment, they won't let adults join the club, but we could meet up and discuss options, they could let you in if I introduce you possibly.

You could meet at the race on Saturday at 9.30 for the post to post run that's on, Ill be there, with the singlet on, with glasses. Feel free to see me if you're there.

Yeah, its the same with how other clubs react when I tell them the situation. There are other clubs you could join like star of the sea or balbriggan roadrunners, that's if you are serious about a fast pace, I'm at around 16.31 for 5k, so its not very good for me to train with them. Both clubs are nearby to here and are on Facebook.

Well, if you don't like it then feel free to go to the other clubs I said I would introduce you to, theres star of the sea and Balbriggan roadrunners near here.

I don't think theres anything wrong with it, they're a juvenile club with a few parents helping out, there are plenty of other clubs out there available to you.

I think that as no one came up to me about what clubs there are out there that your not that bothered either way with it. There is talks in Balbriggan roadrunners for setting up a park-run in ardgillan, its a race done every week on the same day, you could get in contact with them on Facebook and offer the help them with that as I am doing, it should be good.

was that you in Malahide today? well done and nice running if so ...

Yeah, it was me, thanks for the compliment. I'm sorry about the misconception from the club here, it's just for kids and parents mostly, I'm only still there because I was a juvenile when I joined.

I can only introduce you to the members in the other clubs that I mentioned as they know me there, not to skerries AC, thats what I meant to say up there.

It was a close win today, one of my closest wins to date, would be great if we got one set up here in Ardgillan, there are so many that run here in Balbriggan.

Why don't you send out a post either here or/and elsewhere and see if people are interested in joining a club and create your own club/running group?

Get enough people charge a slight membership fee and you will soon have the resources to function. Skerries has a community centre, I'm sure that could be used as a 'base/point of contact'!

Bish, bash, bosh - you got yourself an athletics club!

Not quite accurate. Star of the Sea AC have a Fit4Life group who certainly won't be chucking along at 16.31 5K pace.
