    hi All,
this may seem like a silly request but here goes anyway.

What do i have to do in order to use a 22" monitor along with my laptop?

I will be accessing the same information on both screens.

    Thanks

What sort of connections are on the Laptop and Monitor??

    Do they both have HDMI??

If they do, your're laughing, just connect them up. If not it's abit trickier.

HDMI cable can be got in some €2Euro shops, don't give more than €5-€7 for one anyway.

I'm running my (slightly broken) laptop through my monitor through a VGA - VGA cable. The res is not as sharp as with a HDMI connection but I am just waiting on an RMA for my PC to come back so could not justify buying one (even if they are like E10).

If it does not display on the monitor straight away you just hit your FN + F(4,5 or 6....usually) key and it will detect it. Failing that you can right click desktop, go to display properties and click Identify and it should connect with the monitor.

    Hope that helps!

    How does the sound work?

Ah right, forgot about that. I am running a lead out of my laptop into a 400W stereo which then feeds into two huge speakers :P

EDIT: I haven't even seen a monitor with in built speakers in years....so not sure if the HDMI would be any use in that case either.

screen has been gone in my laptop for months, i have an external monitor hooked up with a normal vga cable works perfectly and the sound comes from the laptop.
