I am in the process of claiming Mortgage Payment Protection and the insurance company have come back with a question.

    Quick Background ...

I had to leave work due to a back problem Janurary 2011

In February 2011 the company I worked for went into liquidation and I lost my job.

In April 2011 I stopped claiming Illness Benifit and started claiming Jobseekers.

The Social Welfare office rightfully state I started claiming Jobseekers from April 2011.

The Insurance company want to know why I was not claiming Jobseekers from February, I am afraid to answer I was sick as they do not cover back conditions.

    Any suggestions?

Be honest, otherwise when they find out that you were lying (or withholding information relevant to the payout), the may not pay out anything.

I agree .Not worth it for on months cover. It's an insurance company they won't cover you at all if they can get out of it.We had this cover and it paid our mortgage for almost year. It's to valuable to mess with.

You need to tell them you were off sick up to April, the fact they don't cover back conditions would be no reason to decline a claim for unemployment.
