I'm looking to organise a holiday for 5 days for about 6 people in Ibiza. We were thinking of staying in or near the old town. Any advice here on how to do it on a budget, whether to arrange it myself or get a package?

When is the best time to go to find a nice balance of open clubs that aren't too busy or expensive?

Had no luck with this in clubbing forum....

    Hey Silvine.
The old town of Ibiza is lovely and very characteristic be prepared to pay for it though. Old Ibiza town is expensive for its location in similar comparing to being in Dublin city centre.

Last years season was fairly quiet till July even though clubs opened first week of June.

Yes clubs are expensive getting into and drinking in (water €8-10 a bottle) but reps will have good promotions on and you'll come across different promoters giving different deals so don't always jump in on the 1st one. I had several thrown at me last year for Privileges opening night with Tiesto starting from just an entry ticket €50 to best deal and got for friends was €60pp which got you pints €1 in the starting bar in San Antonio, bus from San An to Playa D'en Bossa where 3hr free bar awaited of what ever you wanted and made very good use of that another bus to Privilege, entry in and return bus back to San An all included.

Do recommend tanking up before you go out which can save a bundle, can buy in the supermarkets a 1L of San Miguel for €1 and good beer. Ibiza town expect to pay same as Dublin around €5 a pint. San An €2 a pint.

Their are a lot of packages in hotels offering all in including drink just have a look around, Local businesses said it was hugely popular last year and so terrible for them.

Just one thing to be aware of is unofficial taxi's. All taxi's on the island are white with a colour strip down the front doors and a number. I have come across a few unofficial drivers outside clubs when closing offering rides but then literally robbing from you with extreme rates. Airport to San Antonio is around €25 and Ibiza €15.
