    Hello.

My Dell Inspiron packed in suddenly before Chrismas.
Now have new laptop but I am unable to access my emails.

Was on Outlook Express and now have Windows Mail, tried lots of advice given here on importing but to know avail.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Can you give us a bit more detail? Is there a thread created already about the issue? Can you give us the link? So many questions, so little time...but seriously, hit us up with some more information and we can help you out...

Do you have all the Outlook Express .dbx files? These are your Inbox folders databases which store all your emails. You should be able to import each dbx into Windows Live Mail

Yeah I was going to suggest the above but I assumed you had tried that already and that you do have the files backed up somewhere from your old machine?

    Do you have them somewhere?

Yes I have tried that but keep running into a wall
No i dont have them backed up anywhere but was able to retrieve photos.

Do you still have access to the old hard drive? You will also need to reconfigure your email account on the new machine to start receiving/sending mails again, let us know the provider and we can assist (eircom, upc etc.)

Whats the end of your email address, @eircom.net, @upc.ie, @gmail.com etc. Have a read of this on how to get your old emails off the old drive to import into Live Mail

OK to add an eircom.net account you use:
    Username: yournme@eircom.net
    email: as above
    Password: your Eircom Email password
    Incoming Mail Server (POP): mail2.eircom.net
    Outgoing (SMTP): mail-relay.3ireland.ie

I don't have Live Mail installed but I think you can Access accounts by pressing the Tab button once, on menu that appears click Tools>Accounts. Under Email add an account with details above

just to close this out. got it sorted using window 7 mail - once I had my outlook password, was able to import as originally instructed.
    Cheers:)
