on JSA moving county

    hi all
    i am on jobseekers allowance and just moved county
    i went into the office in my new town and filled out the forms to have my claim moved there but from what i could tell it looks like my claim is being started fresh? does this mean im going to be put on a lower rate? (i *unfortunatly* have been on JSA since a few weeks before they brought in the lower rates for under 25s)
    i asked the woman behind the desk and she said she doesnt know and it depends on the inspector that reviews my case...can anyone advise me what happens
    i hate to be dependant on dole and have moved to a bigger town to hopefully find a job but im just worried theyll slash my money in the mean time

    Your claim shouldnt be started from fresh. You are just transferring from one location to another. Are you under 25 and were you living at home before you moved county. If this is the case then your means will be to be reviewed by an Inspector but it should not be deemed a new claim.
