    Hi guys,

1st time poster on this forum so hoping your good selves can point me in the right direction.

I have an ACER Aspire 5536 that keeps overheating and is going to die sooner rather than later. I'm not very tech savvy in that I'm unsure whats a 'good' laptop and what I need and don't need, so I don't want to go shopping and come home with a Commodore 64!

I want to steer clear of Acer given my current problems so recommendations of good brands would be welcome.

    All help/guidance/suggestions are gratefully accepted.

    Budget: Up to €600

Intended use: Work (excel, word etc, which my employer provides), internet (heavyish usage), streaming to TV, FM12 and similar games (not a heavy gamer at all).

Mobility: Has to be transportable (the ACER is perfect so a similar size would be good)

    Warranty: No thank you!

Operating System: Currently Windows 7 Home Edition (32 bit I think)
