Dublin based guitarist looking for . . . .

Right so here is the story:

I’m a guitarist based in Dublin looking for a band. Style doesn’t matter to me so long as it is good (subjective really I know).

I have been in a band for the last five years which has recently broken up. I have been toying with the idea of going out and doing my own stuff (singer-songwriter kinda stuff) but my heart will always be in a band I think.

All guitar parts, programing and engineering were all done by myself (it is only preproduction so not everything is exactly as I wanted it but how and ever). (yes I know its heavy but I am certainly not set on a heavy project)

I am very serious about music, it is what I want to do with my life. I would eventually like to be able to not work and be able to make a living from it. (but the goal in the first instance is to have fun and play some great music with some cool people)


I have backing vocals and can also play some keys etc.
I have now set genre or ‘type’ of music that I would listen to or anything. But I guess I will give you a list of some of my influences as an idea:
Pearl Jam, Tool, Karnivool, The Frames, Jason Mraz, This Will Destroy you, Guns ‘n’ Roses, The acacia Strain, Tesseract, Weezer, Biffy Clyro (older stuff), Jethro Thull, Take That (newer stuff is whopper, don’t care what any one says), Kyuss, Machine Head, Jane’s Addiction, Rage Against The Machine, Damian Rice, Deep Purple, Mic Christopher, BeardyMan, Helmet, The Cooper Temple Clause, Led Zeppelin, Deadmau5, Linkin Park, Jack Johnson, Limp Bizkit, Korn, The Who, The Strokes, And So I Watch you From A Far, Incubus, The eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster, The script, Hans Zimmer, Despised Icon, Queens Of the Stone Age, Sleep, King Crimson, Slipknot, Frank Sinatra, Muse, Pusicfer, A Perfect Circle, Screaming Trees, Dillenger Escape Plan, REM, Snow Patrol, Arcade Fire, Periphery, Green Day (anything before American Idiot), Newton Faulkner, Doves, the list goes on and on and on. . .

As I said, Influences or style doesn’t really matter so much. So long as it is good I will listen to it.
Ideally the band would be based in Dublin (I have transport and can travel if needed, I do work though so will only be able to rehearse in the evenings)

So if you like what you’ve read and what you’ve heard gimme a shout. Doesnt matter if you are looking to start a band/get members together, or looking for a guitarist for an existing band.

Hey man, I'm a guitarist based in Dublin 7. I'm also looking to get a band going. My influences would be very similar to your own, Pearl Jam, QOTSA, Led Zeppelin, Weezer, Rage Against the Machine. I'm also heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Keys, AC/DC, Eric Clapton. I've played lead guitar and lead vocals in a blues/rock band. Hey bro! Spike here ... this site got recommended by a friend for finding musicians and me and my band are looking for a guitar player i like alot of the bands you like also! We are looking to do originals but also covers when playing live, possibly a 'mainstream' chart kinda set, but beefing the songs up with riffs, etc . and originals spread out through the set for the start anyways ... sort of brand new band, i play guitar myself and iv been in bands with the drummer for years, we've a girl singer, and think we've just got ourselfs a bassist ..
