Hello, Just wondering if it is possible to use a smartphone without a SIM using WIFI only? I don't have a huge need for mobile internet only when I am traveling abroad. So don't want to sign up to any of the data plans. I am looking at getting a cheap Samsung SIM free such as the Galaxy Mini, and just using it on WIFI…

Hello,

Just wondering if it is possible to use a smartphone without a SIM using WIFI only? I don't have a huge need for mobile internet only when I am traveling abroad. So don't want to sign up to any of the data plans.

I am looking at getting a cheap Samsung SIM free such as the Galaxy Mini, and just using it on WIFI spots that are available while traveling. I have a net-book but want something smaller than that hence the question.
