Which Package/Provider?

    Hey all,

    Hopefully a very quick question...

I'm going to be moving back to Dublin shortly with work and will probably need to rely on a 3G USB dongle for my internet addiction in the short-term until I get more permanent accomodation sorted.

A quick comparison of the various providers shows O2 as having a 15GB package for €20 a month. 3 offer a higher 60GB package for a tenner more but I gather they block sites too?

I'd be a fairly heavy broadband/DSL user at home (gaming, downloads etc) but obviously I know I'll be limited by a midband link, but I don't want to be constantly topping it up either or paying the earth for what will hopefully be a short term solution but which might be useful after for occasional on-the-road use

Am I right in saying that these 2 providers/packages are my best option?

    Cheers for any advice

If it's short term then the prepay might be a better option since you wouldn't be locked in to a 12 or more months contract, prepay would be less data for more money then contract but you don't have to pay after you have the permanent setup.

Three only block sites on mobiles.

I'd stay away from Three mate.

I'm with them on mobile and mobile broadband and both are very very very slloooooooow during the day and nighttime also, right up until around 3am. Some days it's good and you'll get 2mbps no bother, but it's rare, very rare these days. I've been trying to catch up on some TV all day on 4OD and not a hope of it, just surfing boards has been like back using 56k all over again.

I'm in a good area also. Three signal here is very strong.

I'm switching to Meteor soon as they're prices seem quite good. Would prefer O2 but they are quite expensive and I'd use 15gb in a week, easily. Just watching a few hours of steaming each day can run at around 2gb of content.

Meteor do a 30 day contract of 20gb for €20, so I may go for that.
