    Hello all,

My heating was set on a timer but it never kicked in yesterday evening or this morning. I was wondering if there are any simple checks I can do before I have to fork out on a pro when it might simply need a reset.

The outer casing has Grekos Cosyman. The burner itself has Ecoflam on it.
It was fully serviced roughly 5 months ago. The problem is Im not even getting a kick out of the burner when I switch it on, it doesnt even sound like its about to spark or the usual sound it makes. I changed the thermostat dial in the house up to 30 and below 10 and tried to start it again but no joy. I have over half a tank of fuel so it aint that.

Ill add a pic if someone can point out a reset button:confused:

Unscrew the little black cap on the stat, this is the high limit stat, press the the button as it may have tripped.

Bingo. Fair play to you Aujopimur, the high limit stat was tripped. Heating is working again. Why would this have tripped? Is there a potential problem?

Make sure the thermostat phials are correctly located in the boiler pocket,
ensure the circulating pump is running (if not it will trip again in about 10-15 mins or less)
Make sure the boiler stat is operating (boiler cycling on/off as it hits temperature) and dont set it too high, 65-75 degs will be loads
If the house is zoned, ensure a by-pass is fitted and open slightly

It could have tripped for a few reasons, lack of water, poor circulation, faulty pump, stat set too high, faulty stat.

The high limit stat has tripped many times since it first tripped. Is there anything I can check myself before getting a pro out to view the problem:confused:

I only cop it tripped when I get up in the morning and there is no hot water:(

Try running it with the boiler stat set a bit lower.
