I was wondering if anyone at all had figured out a way of streaming video from the likes of RTE or TV3 in college? I have a mac and I've tried a few things but nothing seems work. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Could it possibly be something to do with you having a Mac? I have windows 7 and I watch stuff on RTE player fine in college.

If you are a member of the computer science department you should give the compsci wireless a go. I always found that I had fewer issues streaming on compsci than on TCD.

I had a mac last year, and I never had any issues streaming from RTE. Actually watched the eurovision whilst studying for exams... Can't remember whether I was on TCD or compsci though.

Other than that, maybe try a different browser. IIRC, some of them are a bit sketchy. Not sure if there are any issues with Safari, but I would have been using Chrome anyway. Possibly try something like proxifier too?

When you're trying to stream from RTE, does it display the ads, but never what you're trying to watch? Or is it just completely blank?

Install Proxifier, add the TCD proxy to the settings, and video should work perfectly.

I never figured out why I wouldn't work for me on any windows laptop or PC i've connected to the TCDwifi network. Advertisements would sometimes load but never the actual live RTE stream itself. I have successfully configured proxy settings for all kinds of software on the laptop before but I just can't get it to work for the RTE player. And the rte player would work instantaneously when I tried any other internet connection.
