UCD New Years Air Open 2012

UCD Rifle Club is pleased to announce that we will hold the UCD New Years Air Open 2012, on Sunday 8th of January 2012 at UCD Rifle Club Range, UCD, Belfield.

This is an open competition for 10 metre Air Rifle and Air Pistol.

Competitions:

• Air Rifle 60 shot
• Air Rifle 40 shot
• Air Pistol 60 shot

Class prizes will also be presented (based on the first 40 competition shots).

Entry fee: €15 (€10 students/juniors)

Pre-booking is essential.

Dependent on numbers, a 'fun' final will take place after the Sunday 13:00 detail, the scores from the final will not be included in the overall or class prizes.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the UCD New Years Air Open, today Sunday 8th January 2012.

Given the time of year it was a good turnout with 23 shooters taking part in total and a very strong showing from the pistol shooters.

In the Air Pistol competition Modern Pentathlon's Tom O'Brien put in an excellent 542 to take first place, with Rathdrum's Caroline O'Brien and John O'Brien taking second and third place.

In the Air Rifle 60 shot competition, the Defence Forces Ray Kane, fresh from setting a new Irish international record in RIAC, continues his winning form taking first place with a score of 586. Ray was followed by DURC's Vladimir Untila and UCD's John Lancaster taking second and third place respectively.

Thanks again to everyone who took part and we hope to see you again at the UCD January Air Open which will be held on the 26th and 29th of January 2012.
