    Hi there,

I'm no expert here but as far as I know a lot of people are waiting six weeks or more. Plus taking in closing time over Christmas and the New Year bank holiday there will probably be more of a delay than usual. I'd check with them again in a week or two. Sorry I can't be of more help. I know I was waiting five weeks for mine at one stage and that was before things got as bad as they are now!

While you are waiting for you claim to be processed you can go to your community welfare officer and apply for supplementary welfare allowance.

The reason it is gone to a support unit in Roscommon is because Galway office is probably for the want of a better term "bogged" down with claims and there are local office support units around the country who help out different offices due to volume of work.
