05 transit van hard to start and sluggish

hi all. i have a 05 transit the t350 90 bph model and it takes a while to start especially in the mornings. usually i have to turn it over 3 or 4 times. also when driving it gets very sluggish at about 2500 rpm. it kind of gets bogged down. does anyone have any idea as to what might cause these problems? thanks in advance.
