    Hi There,
What size satellite dish need I for Hellas Sat 2 at 39e, especially for 12606.00H transporder?

Is 90cm triax dish enough big for good reception when it rains?

    Thanks in advance
    Bondja

hi,im not sure if a 90cm will do but that transponder is giving out a very high signal on my triax 1.1, im getting a quality reading of 94% on a spiderbox and 88% on a technomate, when the wind dies down i will be swapping the 1.1m which is moving on the pole in the high winds with an 85cm and i will see what sort of signal i get on the said transponder, regards

I use a 1m Televes dish in Donegal, without any issues. I suppose it depends on your location, asit is quite low in the sky this far north west, but you may be further south east which will help in terms of reception, and thus dish size

A 90cm should be good enough. According to the maps even an 80cm would do the job.

Please check with 85cm dish when is rainy, and tell me results.
    Thanks in advance.

hi,i have changed my dish to the 85cm one and on the said transponder im gettin a signal of 59 and quality of 86,signal was 64 and quality was 94 with the 1.1m dish,i will update you when we get some bad weather and see what sort of rain fade i get but i would expect with these signal levels that all should be ok even in the bad weather,im based in the cork area so i would imagine an 85cm in your area might give lower readings, regards

Thanks for informations. I think that 90cm is enough for good reception of this satellite. Just check how is on rainy weather nad replay.
    Thanks

That TP is on beam F1. 50cm would get you F1&2 ok, go 90. You cant receive S2 at all.

    50cm a bit small.

Maybe 65cm in S.East, but 80 or 90cm safer and 80cm to 110cm elsewhere. You need a proper rain margin.

Even Sky/Freesat isn't reliable in Rain on 50cm dish.
