Gun to my head right now I'd say it'll be Gingrich v Obama in 2012

I think Obama will swap Biden and Hilary around, so it'll be an Obama/Clinton ticket -V- Gingrich/Bobby Jindal or similar up and coming young republican

Just a bit of fun :)

the ptb are happy with Obama so with Obama it will stay, it matters not who the challenger is.

I could honestly think of nothing more horrifying than Gingrich V Obama. It's more of a pick your poison than pick your president. Gingrich's tax plan would bankrupt America and Obama's spending is bankrupting America.

I think it will be Romney V Obama. I'd agree with you that Obama will swap out Biden for Clinton. I think Romney might go for Paul Ryan but I don't know much about potential Republican VP's. I believe someone on Fox suggested Rand Paul, which would be a good pick for Romney as it might help gather some of the Ron Paul support although Rand is very inexperienced.

I'd vote for Romney/Rand Paul myself but I don't think Goldman Sach's and Romney's other big donors would be too happy if their boy Romney picked a tea partier as a running mate

I just can't see Romney doing it tbh

Apparently Gingrich is going to give Romney both barrels this week

For the Republicans I reckon it'll be Romney.

Is there really anyone with enough about them to challenge Obama for the Democrat nomination?

it's not official but there is no real challenger, just a few are technically challenging but it's a monster raving lunatic style challenge

Good thing that some big name libertarians are lining up to run third party, because that's an awful choice.

I predict it will be Romney (picking either Rubio or Christie as VP) vs Obama (stuck with VP Biden or snagging Cuomo, Bayh, Kaine or Christ if he's lucky, as H. Clinton won’t want to be associated with a losing proposition), and with Romney winning the 2012 POTUS election.

Yeah ladbrokes seems to agree with your vp predictions

All I know is that wall street is so hated now that i think it'll be toxic to Romney and also the whole "obomney" thing

At this stage 4 years ago Obama was 33/1 to get the democratic nomination, we have a very very long way to go

That's very strange, because at this stage four years ago Obama had won the Iowa caucus and was taking the lead in New Hampshire.

Maybe I have my facts wrong, I remember seeing him at that price when I put 10 on Ron Paul to take NH at 25/1, but maybe I backed that very early, Paul is surging there now apparently

Hilary and Edwards were always fancied above him tho, Hilary even until near the end

Sure he was only a community organiser back then :)

    Well everyone's explanation differs.

    I'll start off fairly simple.

Who are the powers that be?
How will they make sure that Obama stays in power? (regarding the election)

It would be incredible if the nominee wasnt Romney.

And he's already dug himself in pretty deep on some issues that its reasonable to say he wont stand a snowballs chance in hell of beating Obama. His vp pick will be important, he needs a southern fundamentalist christian tea partier.

That'll make for some amusing presidential campaign debates.

The republicans have pretty much given this election to Obama. Which seems surprising given the vitriol of their hatred of Obama.
