All the usual places here in meath have nothin at all , few teal and thats it. I dont bother shooting them personally as theyre small enough . Havent seen a single mallard so far though , very disappointing

Very few around me & low woodcock numbers. Weather this year has just been crap. Nothing wrong with few colder weeks to bring the woodcock off the hills & duck in from the shores :(

All the wet weather means that they spread out more thanx to temporary flooding in fields, ditches etc. that provides extra feeding opportunities. This makes them seem less plentifull in traditional spots. I saw big numbers myself feeding on flooded stubble near Maynooth recently.

PS: There hasn't been the usual big movement of Woodcock into the country from the continent due to all the mild Weather affecting most of Europe. However with indications of colder weather from the middle of the month, hopefully numbers will increase.

We shot 2 mallard start of the season and haven't seen one mallard around our usually haunts, nor have I seen 1 teal. Could count the number of woodcock on one hand as well!!!!!! Even sweet F all snipe around, don't shoot them but usually the fields have a good amount around...Weather is really messing the birds up this year..Last year there was a herd of woodcock and ducks about :c.

I got plenty of mallard on my flight pond between Sept and November.
Used leave the pond idle for near three weeks before shooting it again have gone to the pond 3 times over Christmas and not a thing has come in! Rivers around here are very poor too :(

weathers very mild all around europe this year lads
theres a bird in poland thats still there it never migrated this year as its so mild there still
its probably a factor in low duck numbers this year

For the last couple of weeks I have been shooting flooded fields and never seen as many duck in my life. 80 percent are teal wit wigeon and mallard making up the other numbers. I possibly see about 200 duck in the area in the one go. But its only temporary when the water goes down they are gone again

All migrants are slow about coming in this season down my way. Low Woodcock. Teal and Snipe numbers. Hopefully some cold weather will hit Europe and drive them West before the season finishes up. Woodcock could be on higher ground though and a few nights of frost could drive them down.
