You would need a converter program, I used db-poweramp back in the day.

However most modern MP3 players these days support MP4s too, should test it out save some hassle.

    http://www.google.ie/search?aq=f&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=m4a+to+mp3

    Choose a converter there.

    mp4 files are usually video.

MP4 videos may also use the MP3 codec for audio, all you may need is an audio extractor

I've used Pazera before and it works fine. If you do decide to download this software make sure you do not install any of the toolbars or other junk that it comes with, saying that MP4 videos may use a range of different audio codecs, one popular one is AAC which Youtube use

If they are already audio tracks are in itunes, you may be able to right click on the tracks and click Create MP3 version. you should be able to right click on the newly created file, click show in folder to reveal the folder its saved to.

Hi SAHMOM, you also could try to use the FormatFactory.

You can do it with vlc.

Open vlc and click Media - Convert\Save.

    Add the file, click Convert\Save.

In the drop down you just select .mp3. In the settings you can set the bitrate.

Oh also name the file and click save. That's it!

Actually I must add that it doesn't save instantaneously. It'll stream (at nearly double normal speed) and save the mp3 that way. Should have mentioned that!

    in itunes go to

    edit > preferences

    then click on import settings

change the import using: to mp3

select quality (i'd recommend at least 160kb/s)

    click ok

    click ok again

right click on any track and click create mp3 version..

done the mp3 version of the track will appear in your library then just drag to the desktop and then to the mp3 Player
