MB PRO to "Old television?"

    is there any way to connect my macbook to a television that doesnt have hdmi or vga? i want ?composite cables? or scart lead? yellow, red/white would be grand. any hope?

    What model is it? Mine has MiniDisplayPort and I had enough trouble trying to find a MDP->HDMI cable for a reasonable price (although Amazon is your friend for this).

    Apple apparently only intended Mini DisplayPort to be used with other digital formats. You may able to connect to component AV or SCART by using multiple convertor cables, however.

    I'm moving this to Mac where you might get better answers.

    If its a unibody you will need converter hardware VGA-->Composite. For non unibody you can get a composite cable that will plug into most TVs. If your TV only has SCART, then you would need a SCART to composite adapter as well.

    Thank you both very much for your reply, it is a macbook pro 5.3 (2.8GHz , Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory 4gb, 1067 MHz DDR3) I'm sorry i'm not sure what constitutes a UNIBODY?thx for moving the thread! where might i shop for converter hardware in dublin city centre?

    The 5,3 is a unibody machine. Telltale signs are the black screen bezel, glass screen and a more rounded shape than the old models.
