Hi all, maybe people can give me some advice info.
I'm 25 living at home. Have worked since I was 15. In September I got an 8 week contract with a job I studied for. This turned out to last double that which brought me upto Christmas holidays. A contract is not been renewed(as expected). All my payements were through an agency and I never gave an agency my P45 as I was still working part-time with my other job untill mid way through October. Then I got a p45 from my old job, a few weeks later, the place I worked closed down. Pity as I was 8years there.
So, I have a p45 from the job that I left and nothing to say I had done this contract work, on my payslips, I have been paying the paye etc, but how do I show or explain to the social welfare when I go to claim dole, and also how can I claim my tax back, as the first few weeks, I payed a lot more tax.
    Thanks

As you have not been claiming since your p45 was issued I cant see any problem there go into your local office and start the process.(just claim from the date you go into the office)

Contract work looks like you were self employed, you would need to contact the revenue and get a balancing statement, ring them and they will post out the forms for you to fill in.

Thanks, I need to get a new p45 from the contract work, or a letter stating I am no longer working.
They also want to means test me, and I am 25.

You will be means tested, but your parent's wages will not be taken in to account. Only your assets and savings etc.

Its a P45 you really need, its the easiest thing to hand in. If not you'll be getting a P60 in the next 8 weeks, that might do.
